Housing Clerk – Youth Intern (ouf)

Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation has received funding to provide a Youth with on-the-job training and work
experience as a Housing Clerk - Youth Intern with our Housing Department. The successful applicant will
set and meet goals to ensure delivery of effective, efficient service within the Housing Program and in
accordance with the Housing Policies and Procedures. The Housing Clerk - Youth Intern will assist with
the timely completion of a wide range of office duties that are associated with the Housing Departments
delivery of programs and services, including but not limited to; overseeing administrative support and
office services for Housing, the coordination and communication of office activities, reception and
intake. The Housing Clerk - Youth Intern will also be responsible for complete and accurate files and
supporting documents for each tenancy, as well as all subsequent data entry related to rent.
 

Youth interested in this position opening must meet the Youth Internship Program eligibility criteria as
outlined below. 

The employment term is for 16-18 weeks (July 2025 to November 2025) with a
possibility of an extension pending on funding.


• A First Nation Youth, 15-30 years of age,
• Preference will be given to Tla-o-qui-aht Community Member,
• A willingness to learn and gain practical work experience and competencies related to assigned
Housing work duties.
• A genuine interest in Housing Department work; with preference given to candidates wishing to
pursue employment or educational goals in the Housing field of work.
• Submit to Criminal Records Check
• Valid BC Drivers license is an asset but not required
• Clerical/administrative experience an asset
