Mother of missing Leviathan II passenger believes son will return as a dolphin

Grace Frank of Ahousaht First Nation met Oct. 29 with the parents, brother, uncle and girlfriend of 27-year-old Ravisham Pillay, one of 27 passengers and crew onboard the Leviathan II which capsized Oct. 25 on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. His body has yet to be recovered.

Grace said, "her heart sank hearing the mother talk about how Mother Nature wants to keep her baby in the ocean". Her son loved dolphins, so she told Grace she believes he will come back as a dolphin.

Grace said the mother was very strong and was trying to hold herself together. "I told her it's OK to cry. She cried so hard I cried with her. I really felt her pain."

The family told Grace there is not enough thanks for what all of Ahousaht has done, Grace reported.

Leviathan II capsized Oct. 25, and Ahousaht and Tla-qui-aht boats were first to respond to the emergency.
